Slumdog Takes Golden Globes And Kate Winslet does a double

Brace yourself for "The British are coming" headlines, because Danny Boyle's Anglo-Indian Slumdog Millionaire and Kate Winslet pretty much swept the Golden Globes between them this year.
Slumdog took four awards - Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score. The Wrestler was the second most lauded film, with two awards (Best Actor - Drama for Mickey Rourke and Best Song), and Kate Winslet was the most lauded person, winning Best Actress - Drama for Revolutionary Road and Best Supporting Actress for The Reader.
Those who persist in viewing Hollywood's awards season like the Olympics will also be pleased to know that Britain's Sally Hawkins won Best Actress - Musical or Comedy for Happy-Go-Lucky, while fans of casual swearing will be delighted that Colin Farrell took Best Actor - Comedy or Drama for In Bruges.
Elsewhere, Wall-E took Best Animation, Waltz With Bashir landed Best Foreign Film and Heath Ledger, in perhaps the least surprising result of the night, landed Best Supporting Actor for The Dark Knight. Vicky Cristina Barcelona took Best Picture - Musical or Comedy to complete the main awards.
In TV, the big winners were HBO's John Adams and 30 Rock, with four and three wins respectively, with single salutes for Mad Men, True Blood and Recount. Fans of The Wire may now riot, incidentally, at its snub for so much as a nomination.

Atomic Kitten to reform with Katona?

Atomic Kitten are said to be in talks to make a comeback as a four-piece.
The trio's original members were Kerry Katona, Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton until Katona left in 2001 after becoming pregnant.
However, Katona's financial difficulties could see her reunite wth McClarnon and Hamilton - along with replacement Jenny Frost - for a number of gigs this year.
The band previously reformed last year without Katona, a move which she said squandered their chances of success. "I made that frigging band, but they never bothered to invite me back," she said at the time. "Without me they're nothing."

Leona, Justin plan to record duet

Leona Lewis and Justin Timberlake have apparently been lined up to record a duet together.
The pair are reportedly covering the classic power ballad 'I Will Always Love You', a number one for Whitney Houston in 1992.
"They will record the track in the next few months and are just waiting for a period when they’re both free to go into the studio," a source told The Sun.
"Leona and Justin are huge fans of each other’s music and are raring to go."
Lewis previously stated that it would be "cool" to work with the 'SexyBack' singer on his next album.
The song was originally written and released by Dolly Parton in 1974. In 1992, Houston's version from The Bodyguard spent ten weeks at number one.

Goody: 'I have 40% chance of surviving'

Rex Features
Doctors have told Jade Goody that her chances of beating cancer have reduced.
The former Big Brother contestant has admitted that she has a 40% chance of beating the disease.
"I have down times when I cry and cry. I’ve only got a 40% chance of living. But I won’t let go," she told The Sun.
The star recently started losing her hair following sessions of chemotherapy treatment.
Describing the moment her hair started falling out, she added: "I screamed until my mum came running. When she saw the hair on the floor, she cuddled me and rubbed my head like when I was a baby.
"Handfuls more peeled off in her hands. It was awful."
The star was diagnosed with cancer while appearing on the Indian Big Brother in August 2008.

Tommy 'sends secret signals to wife'

Tommy's wife Gail was reportedly in tears after watching him send a secret romantic message from the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Gail watched her husband kissing his wedding ring during live TV as a clandestine gesture of love.
She told the Daily Record: "It was the moment when Davina talks to the house and says, 'You are live on Channel 4, do not swear'.
"In the background, you see him sitting and I was going to burst into tears because he lifted his hand and kissed his wedding ring. I thought it was dead nice.
"My family all saw it. He did it a couple of times and that was a wee signal to me."

Burke 'banned from meeting Chris Brown'

X Factor winner Alexandra Burke has reportedly been banned from meeting Chris Brown by Rihanna.
Burke, who is a big fan of the American R&B star, had requested that her label Sony arrange for her to meet the singer at his recent London O2 arena gig.
The 20-year-old watched the concert with her siblings David, Aaron and Sheneice in a VIP box, according to The Mirror.
However, she was apparently turned away from the official afterparty because Rihanna found out about the reality TV winner's crush on her boyfriend.
"Alex was mortified," said a source. "She had no idea she had been banned from meeting her idol.
"She's a massive fan of Chris Brown - she said numerous times on The X Factor how much she fancies him and wants to meet him.
"Poor Alex was so excited about hooking up with Chris that she was even thinking of entering a competition on Choice FM radio to meet him."
